Thanksgiving!!!

I'll leave campus at 6 today.
I spend whole Thanksgiving break in my friend's house.
His hometown is in Northern Virginia, and so close to D.C!! (though most of students are from Northern Virginia)

And, another friend lives near his house.
So, we can go out by three.
I'm excited to go and really appriciate his family.

At the same time, I have to study on Thanksgiving Break.....
I tried to finish all my papers before the break. But, I was lazy and study only a little on weekend. And, I was drinking yesterday...
oh,,,,

I'm not sure that I can really study in this break.
I'll try to study....

books!!

These are books that I ordered today.

>Hard Drive: Bill Gates and the Making of the Microsoft Empire
>Bill Gates (Biography (a & E))
>iCon Steve Jobs: The Greatest Second Act in the History of Business

Two are about Bill Gates, and one is about Steve Jobs.
Microsoft and Apple..
I'm curious about how Gates spent his young age, especially in Harvard.
It's famous that he dropped out Harvard because of his devotion to making a software.

I hope to finish reading one of them before winter break, so I can read the other two books on winter break.

studying English...

What I'm doing right now is the study of English..
I'm memorizing vocabulary with a textbook that I brought from Japan.

..., but in America now...

Since I came here, I haven't studied English itself.
I thought talking with someone is the best way to improve English, and it's fun of course.
But, I noticed that I need to master the fundamentals of English first when I started studying with this material.

I decided to keep studying by this way while I'm in America.

By the way, I'm going to watch two movies today.
One is for my Film Study course.
The other is just for fun. I'm going to my friend's house and watch the movie. (though I have no idea what we watch..)

Now, I go to Swem and check out the DVD for my Film Study course...

Hong Kong Economy

Now, I'm reading a book about Hong Kong Economy.
The title is "Global Hong Kong."
This reading is for the final paper of English Writing course.

We can decide our topic by ourselves.
I'm going to focus on the Hong Kong Economy. I'm going to mention that the possibility of Hong Kong in 21 century.
For example, how Hong Kong is going to face with China. China is developing so fast and it works well for Hong Kong to take advantage of Chinese economy.
At the same time, I'm curious about how Hong Kong utilizes such opportunity without affecting by Chinese Policy.
If it's failed, Hong Kong might be included in China. Now, Hong Kong is a part of China with good balance.

Moreover, I want to find the best way for Hong Kong to survive from now on.
Now, world is changing rapidly. Not only China, but also many countries which have huge resourses, such as human labor or natural resourses.

Actually, it will be hard time for Hong Kong to survive in this period.

However, I want to mention the best attitude of Hong Kong for its economy.

By the way, I didn't study so much this weekend. So, I have a lot of works this week like last week.
The situation is almost same with last week....
I have two drafts for final paper.

Study, study, study.....

In addition, the last week was the worst week ever since I came here..
I had a lot of works and I've frustrated from Friday.
I don't mention why I'm so frustrated. I hope I can get rid of this feelings soon.

Lastly, I talked with one of my Japanese friends on the phone today.
She is also an exchange student, but she is now in Seattle.
We were in the same elementary school and junior high school.
So, we have known each other and been friends for a long time.
By talking with her, I'm a little invigorated and I also hope her success in America.

... tired

I had a lot of things to do this week.
This week was the hardest time ever since I came here.

I couldn't have enough sleeps for 4 days.
Four hours, Four hours, Three hours, and Two hours (through Monday to Thursday)
I had no classes today and I have no classes every Friday.
However, I worked on film making for my history class today.

and, I'm tired both mentally and physically. I was a little depressed today.
So, I talked a lot with my friends tonight. They were all good advisers.

Now, one of my friends comes to my room and I'm going to talk with him.

I realize that I need my friends' help today.

TASKS......

...
Wednesday (tomorrow)--- Presentation
though I haven't started preparing for it yet..

Thursday--- Exam
I haven't also started study for it...

Friday--- Due date of submission of a film for American History Course
I've worked on this assignment for three days... but, I haven't completed yet.

So many tasks...

By the way, I registered courses for next semester today.
Next semester, I'm going to take the following courses.

ENSP440 Asian Environmental Issues in 21c

BIOL345 Neurobiology

HIST312 African American History in Global Context

PSYC201 Intro Psychology as a Natural Science

Undoubtedly, I'll be busy next semester.
As you know, biology and history courses are one of the hardest courses.
Moreover, environmental science course is four-hundred level and the class has only 15 students.

But, what is my major??
Nothing??
How should I reply when people ask about my major??

Probably, double major: Biology and History
Ya--...

To tell the truth, I wanted to take a business course, especially "311- Principles of Marketing."
I went to the office of business administration twice. And I asked an assistant to admit me to take the course.
However, she answered "No, you can't. This course is for W&M student."
So, I visited directly to the professor's office and could get his permission.
But, I needed to be admitted by the office to take the course.
However I talked my passion to the course, she rejected me...

Mmm.....

So, I had to abondon to take the course..

But, I'm excited to take those courses I mentioned above next semester!

Presidential Election

Last night, Barack Obama won in presidential election.
It was the biggest event for people all over the world. It is because America is still the center of the world both economically and politically.

However, I watched an election on TV only a little. I had a presentation in a class today and had to prepare for it.......
So, I was back to my room so late and so tired. When my roommate came back to my room at 2 (maybe), I was sleeping........(actually I didn't want to sleep...)
I remember that Obama led 200-80 poles when I watched TV the last time.

Talk about my roommate.
He is black and he chrishes his race. Now, he majors in sociology.
Before I came here, I didn't know much about black history.
My roommate and his friends often talk about it. Thanks to them, I could know their culture and history.
When I was in Japan, I thought people shouldn't choose Obama only by his race.
However, I realized it could an appropriate reason that they vote for Obama because of his race.
Actually, blacks have been separated for a long period. And it is a hope for them that Obama becomes a president of this country.

My roommate was so happy when he came back. And I also became happy by looking his pleased face.
Anyway, I have a lot of works to do tonight. So, I finish writing.

Congratulations! to those who supported Obama
